Designer's Retreat Reveals

Hi there, it's Laura popping by again to share some of the layouts that I created at the Retreat......

This one is based on a PageMaps sketch the ladies provided us with.

still working on getting a picture for this, but I was inspired by some layouts others had created

love these chubby little hands

created two of this layout, one for my son and one for my foster son

actually took the pictures for this last weekend!

I also created a two layout for my foster son, sorry but I cannot share it.  So, all in all adding in the 16 cards I also made I feel like I was very productive!

Thanks for stopping by to check out the blog and my creations.

A Peek at Our Fall Retreat

Hi threre! Just popping in to share a few pictures taken at our fall retreat, this past November.....

Julie and Karen showing off their lovely designs.

New friends, Marion, Sandy and Brenda scrapping away.

Our canvas class went over so well, we ended up running a second one.  Thanks to Chris for being the impromptu teacher!  Looks like doing three of your own at the first class made you a pro!

Can't resist this sweet face!

Eileen working away, boy did this girl produce some beautiful works of art during the retreat!

A peak at the store,,,,,,,

Hoping to win!  Scrapmuch? sold squares for $1.00 each, the proceeds were donated to the Crohn's and colitis foundation.  And a retreat attendee won a free spring retreat!

The ladies of ScrapMuch? (Elaine of the left and Anita on the right) giving a donation to Laura Shaver for the Crohn's and Colitis foundation.  Laura is a friend to the owners and many of the attendees.  She is personally afflicted with the disease and does a lot of work for the Crohn's and Colitis foundation, to raise awareness and funds.  Watch for info on her upcoming February fund-raising crop.

Thanks for popping by the blog today!

What a retreat!

Hello, this is Laura the store 'designer' and I have hijacked the blog for today's post!  I'm sure the ladies of ScrapMuch? won't mind (LOL), I just wanted to do a little sharing with you.  First off, let me just say these ladies put on a super fun retreat ( and I for one can't wait til the next one).  Some of us started early and some stayed up late, and others did both!  We created and created, we ate and ate some more, we laughed and laughed (often til we had tears), we won prize after prize, we had a pajama party and a birthday party, we were rowdy, we learned new tricks, and we made new friends.  A big personal thank you to those who joined us, I can't wait til we meet again.  Thank you for sharing you creations and your stories with me.

I was asked at the retreat to share the layouts that I created during the retreat here, and I will, but now is not the time.  I decided at the retreat that I would like to share a favourite layout from everyone that wished to share, so I walked around the crop room with my camera and snapped away.  I wish I had my scanner so I could have better images to share (more lighting would have helped) but I tried to pack lightly  ( ha who and I kidding, I probably would have packed the scanner if I had thought about it!).

Anyway, before I go off on another tangent, here are some layouts that were created on retreat.  Hoping they inspire you to create.........

'happy for you' an original by Eileen
'simply maddie' an original by Melody

'my first house' an original by Marion

'in beppe's garden' a lift by Jenn

'best buddies' an original by Julie

'best friends' a Quick Quotes kit by Karen

'Moments' retreat Quick Quotes canvas class by Karen

'friendship' an original by Kathy
'dear santa' a lift by Laura Shaver
'the list' a lift by Lee

'zachary' an original by Marcie

'peek a boo' an original by Victoria

'the badlands' by Toni, using a Pagemaps sketch

'family camp' a lift by Suzanne

'j'asore' an original by Sheri

'brothers' by Sandy

i can't wait to see more of what these ladies create.  Hopefully most of you can join us at our all day crop on January the 8th (check the blog for more info).

thanks for letting my pop in with this share,
Laura

December Designer's Reveal

Hello all, it's Laura here with my monthly reveal!

And can I say WOW, what a great kit I received this month, thanks to the ladies at Scrapmuch? ! It was so fabulous, I couldn't wait to get started playing with it! It was chock full of Bo Bunny's Midnight Frost Collection, along with even more goodies! (Check out our side bar for a class being offered with this wonderful product line!)
The kit included this paper pack which has 18 double sided pattern papers, as well as a very versatile sticker sheet.

I love that these wraps were in the kit, they are so beautiful and fun to work with. not to mention, each of the three styles has an added embellishment, notice the gem, stick pin and die cut snowflake.
And I can't forget to mention these rub-ons,

or these epoxy brads,

and these puffy white Thickers, that look so icy and frosty!

There was also a beautiful dark blue pearl Zva Creative flourish.  Unfortunately I couldn't find a photo of one, so you'll have to check it out on my layout.,  and  several sheets of card stock, though surprisingly I only used one and a half sheets as the patterns were so beautiful I wanted to use them all!

Which brings me to my reveal...

First, I created this single page layout, I just knew I needed to use this photo of my son making snow angels when I saw this kit. (the only thing I added from my stash was some Diamond Stickles, to make all the snowflakes glisten!)

here are a couple of detail shots....
I love the effect of using both the letter stickers and Thickers to create my title.

Hand-cutting a snowflake from the patterned paper and layering it with sticker snowflakes then outlining it with Stickles, creates a nice embellishment.  And look at how that lacy ribbon sparkles, LOVE it!

A mixture of sticker snowflakes and rub-ons cluster around the right side of the photo.

My next layout is a double, using photos I took when Timmy and I went on a winter walk.

here are some detail shots...
Layered stickers, pattern paper, a brad and Stickles adorn the upper corner of the first page.

The ruffled ribbon I created along with the Zva flourish underscore a couple of the photos.

This third layout was not even part of my original plan, but the papers were so fun to work with, I just couldn't stop playing!

again, here are a couple of detail shots ....
I created a ruffled flower with the lacy ribbon and added a sticker snowflake and an epoxy brad for a pretty embellishment.

Layering rub-ons is always fun, in fact I also cut them in half, so now I can use the other halves on another project!

I also created this Christmas card.

I used some of the ribbon, which was already ruffly and beautiful, to create this ruffled flower and layered it over a plain white flower that I Glimmermisted,. and then added more Stickles, of course!

Next up is a bookmark, because curling up with a good book is also another favourite winter activity, albeit and indoor one!

This was super easy, it is a great activity to do with the kids on a blustery day.  Simply cut our one of the pre printed journalling spots from the back of one of the patterned papers, layer it over a coordinating mat and then add a flower, brad and some Stickles.

I was planning to embellish some candy canes for the boys' classes before the holidays, so I stocked up on the minty treats (actually they are bubblegum flavoured) for that project, but when I saw this phrase on the paper I knew I had to crack into them.

Isn't that a yummy treat for a friend, more snowflake stickers, a paper ruffle, a little tag and a last little bit of ribbon make this candy cane as sweet to look at as it is to eat!

And finally, but not likely the last creation I will make with this kit (as I still have a fair bit of the kit left) ....  a Christmas tree ornament.

I made these three little boxes and tied them all together with ribbon and a tag (the ribbon was from my stash), there is also a little string attached so this can hang on the Christmas tree, though you could just as easily make these to hold little gifts.

Thanks for stopping by the blog and checking out my creations, I know it's a lengthy post so I appreciate you hanging in til the end! This is such a fun collection and I hope I've inspired you to take some time to play!
